This is the ultimate Starbucks lemonade drinks guide. We have catered a list of 11 lemonade drinks that meets every preference and taste! We'll also give you some tips on how to order these drinks at Starbucks, and provide suggestions on how to make your lemonade as healthy as possible.

So whether you're a Starbucks lover or just looking for some delicious lemonade ideas, read on!

What are the Main Types of Starbucks Lemonades?

Starbucks does not have a 'lemonade menu' per se, but this does not mean they don't have lemonade! You will find their lemonades under the "cold drinks" or "iced teas" menus.

There are 4 main types of lemonades that Starbucks offers. These are:

  • Traditional lemonades

  • Iced tea lemonades

  • Refresher lemonades

  • Blended Strawberry lemonade (this is a unique drink so we are giving it its own category)

You can customize each of these, for example, you can choose the basic lemonade and add a few pumps of raspberry syrup.  And voila, you now have a raspberry lemonade!

With this knowledge in-hand, let's now talk about the best Starbucks lemonades!

1. Lemonade

The classic and refreshing lemonade drink will never disappoint. It's simple and you know what you're getting into!

This classic drink is made with water, lemon juice, sugar, lemon oil and ice.

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: none

  • Sugars: 19g

  • Calories: About 80 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: Many options here, but try  1 pump of raspberry syrup!

  • To make it healthier: this lemonade already comes with some sugar so it cannot be customized to reduce the sugars. But you can ask your barista to dilute it with some water.

2. Iced Black Tea Lemonade

This drink is a great thirst-quencher for those who love black tea! And for those who need that caffeine kick!

As a bonus, this is one of the healthiest drinks with low sugar and calories, and the added benefits of tea.

This iced tea lemonade contains water, lemon juice, sugar, lemon oil, blended black teas and ice.

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 20 mg

  • Sugars: 8g

  • Calories: About 35 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: ask for peach juice blend. Now enjoy your Iced Peach Black Tea Lemonade

  • To make it healthier: all the sugar in this drink comes from the lemonade. To reduce the amount of sugar ask for 'light lemonade'

3. Iced Passion Tango Tea Lemonade

Here's another iced tea lemonade for you. The passion tango tea lemonade is a healthy drink without caffeine.

And an Instagram worthy if you're into that! There is something mesmerizing about seeing those condensation droplets slide down your cup with that beautiful red color!

This lemonade drink is made with the Starbucks classic lemonade plus hibiscus flowers, cinnamon, apple, licorice root, lemongrass, fruit juice extract.

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 0 mg

  • Sugars: 8g

  • Calories: About 35 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: ask for peach juice blend. Now enjoy your Iced Peach Black Tea Lemonade

  • To make it healthier: same trick as above! All the sugar in this drink comes from the lemonade. Reduce the amount of sugar by asking for 'light lemonade'

4. Iced Green Tea Lemonade

This iced tea lemonade  is a great choice for those who love their green tea and want to enjoy it with some lemonade on a hot summer day.

This green tea lemonade has ice, lemonade, and an infusion of water, a blend of green teas, spearmint, lemon verbena and natural flavors.

It is also quite healthy with only 8 grams of sugar. That's almost 5 times less sugar than an equivalent serving of coke! Now that we've made you feel about your choice, it's time to order!

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 20 mg

  • Sugars: 8g

  • Calories: About 35 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: add one pump of cane sugar. Or more!

  • To make it healthier: by now you should know the trick. Ask for light lemonade as this is where all the sugar is!

5. Iced Matcha Lemonade

This might be my favorite. I'm kinda obsessed with this one. And it's not because Lady Gaga is obsessed with it as well!

It's surprising I find it this delicious given my background in Japanese teas. Sumimasen Japanese people!

The green almost fluorescent color of this drink is interesting enough for you to try it. And it's not as sweet as I thought it would be. The umami flavor of the matcha blends well with the sweetness and acidity of the lemonade!

Oh, did I forget this lemonade packs quite a kick! Matcha is a high caffeine tea so this drink has almost as much caffeine as a regular cup of coffee!

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 80 mg

  • Sugars: 27g

  • Calories: About 120 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: I think it's perfect as is. You can add more scoops of matcha powder if you'd like a more bitter taste and more caffeine.

  • To make it healthier:  Ask for light lemonade as this is where some of the sugar is (although the matcha blend already has sugar).

6. Kiwi Starfruit Lemonade Starbucks Refresher

This is the first of the lemonade Starbucks refreshers on our list! If you're unsure what Starbucks refreshers are, just scroll down, we got you covered!

The kiwi starfruit lemonade is another great looking green beverage.

As all refreshers, this is a caffeinated drink (but not as much as the matcha lemonade!) It contains lemonade, kiwi starfruit refreshers base, freeze dried kiwi and ice.

By the way, the freeze dried fruits in refreshers are called inclusions.

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 35 mg

  • Sugars: 23g

  • Calories: About 110 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: How about adding a splash of green tea and one more scoop of kiwi inclusions?

  • To make it healthier: If you’ve made it this far you now know the drill! Ask for light lemonade as this is where a lot of the sugars are.

7. Strawberry Açaí Lemonade

This is another Starbucks refresher drink. It's made with lemonade, strawberry acai Starbucks refreshers base, freeze dried strawberries and ice.

Even though acais berries are deemed a superfruit this doesn't mean this is a healthy drink! A 12 oz serving has 24 grams of sugar. You can reduce sugar by asking for 'light lemonade' or just getting the Strawberry Açaí refresher without lemonade. It has 16g of sugar.

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 35 mg

  • Sugars: 24g

  • Calories: About 110 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: more strawberry inclusions with an extra splash of green tea, please!

  • To make it healthier: light lemonade, please!

8. Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Starbucks Refresher

This is one of the most exotic drinks Starbucks has to offer. It looks like some fancy cocktail you would order by the beach.

If you've never tried this lemonade before, you're in for a surprise. While you sip this drink, close your eyes and let the tropical flavors of mango and starfruit quench your thirst.

And since it's a refresher, you will get that caffeine boost which is much needed to get through those hot summer afternoon work meetings (after having a large lunch).

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 35 mg

  • Sugars: 24g

  • Calories: About 110 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: more dragonfruit inclusions, please! I'm sure I could consume an entire bag of inclusions in one sitting. I'm grateful Starbucks does not sell them.

  • To make it healthier: Ask for light lemonade as this is where a lot of the sugars are.

9. Blended Strawberry Lemonade

This is the Starbucks drink that will fulfill all your strawberry lemonade dreams. The sweet and tangy flavors of this icy drink are guaranteed to melt your thirst away!

The blended strawberry lemonade is made of lemonade, creme frappuccino syrup, strawberry sauce and ice. The consistency of this drink is similar to a slushy.

This drink is honestly not the healthiest, but it's a very nice occasional treat, especially for the kids.

For a tall size (12 oz):

  • Caffeine: 0 mg

  • Sugars: 31g

  • Calories: About 130 calories

  • Total Fat: 0g

  • How to make it more yummy: whipped cream anyone? Might as well go all out!

  • To make it healthier: That's a tall order (and not because this is a tall drink size). Just don't have too many of these drinks.

10. Springtime Lemonade (Starbucks Secret Menu)

So there is something called the Starbucks Secret Menu. Basically, it's a list of drinks that are not on the official menu, but Starbucks baristas and fans have developed over time.

Please be nice to your barista when ordering these. By nice I mean showing them the recipe of the drink you want! You should not expect them to know how to prepare these Secret Menu drinks!

Back to the Springtime lemonade, this is one of the most beautiful drinks out there. It is light pink - almost white - at the top of the cup, and at the bottom it is of strawberry color. It's got this amazing ombre effect from top to bottom.

This impressive lemonade features flavors of raspberry and strawberry acai juice.

Given this is a customized drink we are unable to provide nutrition stats. Sorry!

How to order the springtime lemonade you ask? It's simple!

  1. Start with a Venti Lemonade

  2. Ask your barista to blend it with one pump of raspberry syrup. Some recipes call for 2 pumps but I found the raspberry flavor too strong.

  3. Ask for strawberry acai juice to be poured on top, but not blended. This juice will sink to the bottom resulting in the ombre effect we talked about.

11. Low Calorie Raspberry Green Tea Lemonade (Starbucks Secret Menu)

Here's another impressive looking drink for you.

It of course features an ombre effect, and it is of raspberry color on top, and at the bottom yellowish or orange (from the lemonade, green tea and raspberry sauce mixing).

As the name implies, this raspberry is caffeinated so it's perfect as an afternoon pick-me-up. It's also perfect to impress your friends (or anyone who sees you with it).

To order Low Calorie Raspberry Green Tea Lemonade:

  1. Start with a Venti Green Tea Lemonade with "light lemonade"

  2. Ask for one pump of raspberry syrup and one stevia packet.

  3. Ask for one scoop of dragon fruit.

  4. Don't mix it!

Since this is a customized drink we can’t provide nutrition stats. Sorry! But regarding the 'low calorie' claim, to give you an idea, a venti iced green tea has 0 calories, and a venti iced green tea lemonade has 70 calories. Since you're asking for 'light lemonade' the calorie count would be somewhere in between.

Some Tips on How to Order Starbucks Lemonade Drinks

Here are some tips for ya!

  • In general, you can add lemonade to all the cold Starbucks drinks, except coffee (duh!) or milky drinks (e.g. Iced London Fog Tea Latte).

  • All refreshers contain caffeine. A decaffeinated option is not offered.

  • The Starbucks base lemonade already contains quite a bit of sugar and a sugar-free option doesn't exist. So ask for 'light lemonade' to reduce the sugar content of your drink.

  • Check during the spring and summer if new products are featured. For example, the Mango Black Tea Lemonade used to be one of my favorite ones...

What is the Difference Between Starbucks Lemonades and Refreshers?

Refreshers are beverages based on Starbucks green coffee extract (which is being used in the new Starbucks energy drink). This means all refreshers have caffeine. Starbucks refreshers also have something called inclusions, which are freeze dried fruit that I absolutely love!

A Starbucks refresher can be made into lemonade by, well…adding lemonade to it! If you want to know more, check our post about the best Starbucks refreshers!

How Can I Be Environmentally Responsible When Ordering Lemonade from Starbucks?

You can request for a straw-less lid, or bring your own reusable cup. If you do this, Starbucks will give you a discount on your drink, no matter what Starbucks cup size you bring!

Reusable cups have a few advantages:

  1. They look way cooler than those plastic cups.

  2. They will make you cool because people will see you care about the environment.

  3. They can keep your lemonade icy cold even when it's blazing hot outside.

Here are a few options for you. First we have a see-through basic tumbler.

Or how about this fancy kaleidoscope tumbler. You'll surely stand out with this one!

Or perhaps this even more impressive glow in the dark tumbler? Walking around at night with this one will definitely turn some heads!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy Starbucks lemonade?

You can buy starbucks lemonades at your local starbucks store. Just go there, ask for a lemonade drink and then enjoy it! Lemonades should be available all year round but some flavors are seasonal and sometimes never come back (e.g. Mango Black Tea Lemonade).

Why is lemonade thirst quenching?

Lemonade is a refreshing drink, it's true. But how does that actually happen? How can drinking lemonade make you feel less thirsty than before?

Lemonade is an acidic drink, and acidic, or sour drinks, stimulate salivation. This salivation wets your mouth, giving you the impression of hydration. Note that quenching thirst is not the same as hydration!

Random Trivia: Did you know American settlers used to drink vinegar water to cool off?

Does Starbucks have other thirst quenching drinks?

Of course it does. They have iced coffees, including decaf iced coffees, iced teas and refreshers.

Does Starbucks have sugar-free or unsweetened lemonade?

Starbucks does not have a sugar-free or unsweetened lemonade. The only option for people looking to reduce the sugar content is to ask for 'light lemonade.'

What exactly are Starbucks lemonades?

Starbucks lemonade is a blend of water, lemon juice, sugar, lemon oil and ice. The proportions are of course secret, so we can only give you the ingredients.

Which Starbucks lemonades contain caffeine?

All refresher lemonades and 'iced tea' lemonades contain caffeine.

If you're looking for a lemonade with lots of caffeine go for the Iced Matcha Lemonade. Not only is it delicious, but a venti size has 110 mg of caffeine.
