In order to clean the ninja coffee maker, you have to follow a few easy steps. There are many ways you can try to deep clean a ninja coffee bar; we are going to explore a couple of them. Let's have a look at these methods:

  1. Use White Vinegar Solution – The Fastest and Simplest Way
  2. Using a Descaling Solution

1. Use White Vinegar Solution - The Fastest and Simplest Way

Vinegar is an inexpensive and versatile cleaning product, and it can be used to clean the Ninja coffee bar effectively. It is the all-natural solution for your dirty coffee machine.

Descaling Solution

Since white vinegar contains citric acid, it's great at cutting through tough coffee residue and removing musty odors. It's also a natural disinfectant, so your coffee will smell fresh all the time.

You will need plain white vinegar and water to make the cleaning solution. The process isn't anything complicated, so you shouldn't have difficulty cleaning it. Follow the following steps to clean your Ninja coffee bar using white vinegar.

  1. Empty Out Your Coffee Machine: Get rid of any coffee grounds or water from your Ninja coffee maker.

  2. Add the Vinegar Solution: Now, add a travel mug equivalent amount of white vinegar into your machine's water reservoir and load the rest of the empty reservoir with fresh water.

  3. Push the Correct Button: You will find there is a 'clean' button; click on it and allow it to clean itself for roughly a minute or so, and then push the same button for a second time to pause.

Let your brewer sit like that for half an hour to an hour. And then, push the clean button again and keep it running. The whole process will take about 60 minutes.  Once cleaned, the clean light should get turned off all by itself.

  4. Do a Little Scrubbing: Pour the white vinegar mixture and water from the carafe and wash it. Clean the mesh filter brew basket and the reservoir as well. Use a brush to lightly scrub the filter holder, filter basket, and water reservoir.

  5. Rinse Everything Properly: Rinse the reservoir again by adding more clean water and push the clean button to self-clean for another 5 minutes or so to finish its clean cycle.

When you're done with that, rinse everything once again. And that's how you clean your coffee maker effortlessly.

2. Using a Descaling Solution

Another efficient way to clean a coffee maker is to use a descaling solution. Descaling removes minerals and impurities that build up over time and cause your machine to malfunction. You can buy any commercial descaling solution from grocery stores or online (see below):

Directions

  1. Empty Your Coffee Maker: Get rid of all the coffee leftovers or water leftovers inside your coffee machine. It should be completely empty.

  2. Assemble the Coffee Maker: Make sure the water tank, carafe and other parts of the coffee maker are in their right places. The carafe should be able to drain the cleaning solution. For the best results, you should run the machine in a full carafe setting.

  3. Pour the Descaling Solution into the Water Chamber: Take the descaling solution and pour it into the water chamber. Add more water to dilute it. For this, consider following the instruction that comes with your descaling bottle.

  4. Soak the Coffee Maker Parts and Use the Rinse Cycle: To complete the descaling process, you need to soak the coffee maker parts into the solution for a few hours.

  5. Press the Clean Button: Your machine should come with this ‘Clean Button’. Press it and wait till you finish flushing the cycle and get rid of the descaling solution. If the machine does not have a flush cycle, fill it with fresh water and run a rinse cleaning cycle.

Why Should I Bother Cleaning My Ninja Coffee Maker?

Your coffee tastes better when it's clean. You can't make great coffee without first starting with great water. Coffee machines should be cleaned regularly to avoid the buildup of old coffee, minerals, and other contaminants that can affect the taste of your coffee.

You have to remember that your coffee machine is a breeding ground for bacteria. Let's face it — nobody likes to think about the fact that their coffee maker is helping bacteria reproduce; that is just disgusting.

But it's true. The inside of your coffee machine is a moist, dark environment that is perfect for the task. So, you better keep your machine clean.

The saying goes, "Your coffee is only as good as the equipment you brew it with." So, the same can be said for your coffee maker. Even if you have the most expensive, high-quality coffee beans and the best coffee-making techniques, if your coffee maker isn't clean, you're not going to get the best brew.

And the Ninja coffee maker is a workhorse. It makes delicious coffee and keeps your house full of caffeine. So, you must do some deep cleaning for your coffee brewers at least once in a while.

What if the Cleaning Process doesn't Work?

If your coffee is still tasting funky even after cleaning your machine, then maybe it is time for you to purchase a new one. So make sure to check out the ninja coffee bar and its various models and reviews to see which one would be the best coffee maker for you!

Ninja is a brand that is known for making electronics and kitchen appliances. Their coffee maker is one of the most popular products on their roster.

This device is an electric coffee brewer that can make coffee quickly and without a lot of fuss, and it can be used to make iced coffee and hot cocoa, too!

It works by having a reservoir of coffee grinds inside the maker, and it uses a spinning action to drizzle hot water over the grounds and then collect the brewed coffee in a carafe or cup.

Moreover, this machine also comes with a built-in milk frother for making those lattes and cappuccinos that everyone loves. The lid, water reservoir, glass carafe, and permanent filter are all dishwasher safe, making them easy to clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a descaling solution better than white vinegar?

In terms of cleaning ability, they both are prime competitors. However, the issue with white vinegar is that it leaves a bit of a stench in your coffee maker. Besides, the descaling solutions are easier to use overall.

P.S.: In case you get a bad smell (thanks to the vinegar), you may rinse the coffee maker with soap and water a bit more to get rid of it. If the odor still remains, consider placing some ice cubes in an empty coffee carafe. But tell you what, sometimes, even after rinsing it 4-5 times, it might not just disappear right away.

When should I descale my Ninja Coffee Maker?

Almost every coffee maker comes with a descaling light. If the light turns on, it means your coffee maker needs cleaning and you need to descale it. Now, sometimes you may experience some malfunction in coffee makers and the light may turn on itself without any reason. So, you better see if it really needs cleaning.

Just in case your coffee maker doesn’t come with a descaling light, you should descale the coffee maker once every 2 months.

How frequently should I wash my Ninja Coffee maker?

If you like making coffee regularly, you should deep clean your ninja coffee bar regularly as well. And by regularly, we mean at least every couple of months. That should help keep your coffee fresh.

Which descaling solution is the best?

To get rid of calcium build up and make sure you have a fresh pot of coffee, get the Full Circle Descaling Solution (mentioned earlier). You can find this descaler in your local supermarket or online marketplaces.
